INDIANAPOLIS – Today, State Senator Karen Tallian (D-Portage) released the following comments upon hearing the news of Senator Luke Kenley’s retirement from public office:

“I have been honored to work with Sen. Kenley for the past several years, both in my position as the Senate Democratic Caucus’ budget designee on the State Budget Committee and as the Ranking Minority Member on the Appropriations Committee. Although we have not always agreed on public policy, our mutual respect for each other led us to work well on budgets and other impactful legislation.

“Sen. Kenley’s retirement will be a great loss to the Senate and to the State of Indiana as a whole.

“I wish him good luck and great health in his well-deserved retirement from public service.”

Sen. Tallian represents Senate District 4 which encompasses portions of northern Porter County as well as portions of Michigan, Coolspring and New Durham townships in LaPorte County.
