Senator Niezgodski’s plans after move from Indiana House to Senate

INDIANAPOLIS – Senator David Niezgodski (D-South Bend) has been elected to serve Senate District 10 for the 120th General Assembly. Sen. Niezgodski served 10 years in the Indiana House of Representatives prior to being elected to serve in the Indiana Senate.

“I am looking forward to a fresh beginning and a new opportunity to help make lives better for residents in Senate District 10 as well as Hoosiers across the state,” Sen. Niezgodski said.

Sen. Niezgodski has been appointed to serve as ranking Democrat of the following Senate committees: Homeland Security and Transportation, Pensions and Labor, and Veterans Affairs and The Military. Sen. Niezgodski has also been appointed to three additional Senate standing committees: Appropriations, Environmental Affairs, and Local Government.

“I am ready and willing to begin working with all members of the Indiana Senate; key issues await us in the new year,” Sen. Niezgodski said. “As a member of the Senate, my task is working with all legislators to ensure that legislation enacted will have a positive effect on Hoosier lives. I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to hearing from my constituents about the best ways I can help serve them.”
